The PMPBA is devoted to radio controlled model boating, whether it’s your first attempt at building a model boat, or to further advance your building skills, we have many talented members willing to help others through the process.

A major initiative of the PMPBA is to teach new members how to handle model boats in a safe manner. From understanding the Rules of the Road (or pond in our case) so as to avoid accidents to the safe handling of sharp moving propellers, high voltage batteries and operating boats that can weigh more than 100 lbs or exceed 50 MPH.

Insurance is something you hope you never need but might be glad you have it. Many running sites require it, even some parks. Each member of the PMPBA is covered with $1 million liability insurance through our Association policy with the Scale Ship Modeling Association of North America. This valuable benefit in included in your membership dues and is no additional cost.

Face it; one grown adult playing with a toy boat at a park might just look lonely and weird. But the PMPBA is a diverse and friendly group and when running our boats together seems to act like a magnet for passers by to smile and strike up a conversation with us in a positive and encouraging way. Many of our members have grown decades long friendships with each other and our organization’s leadership has ensured a collegial atmosphere since 1962!
