The Association was founded upon the idea of sharing knowledge of building and running model powerboats, building a community of camaraderie and advancing the hobby for our members, while welcoming and encouraging new folks to a rewarding pastime.
Where we meet
The Association was founded and has run continuously since 1962.
History of the Association
The Association members run their boats at the Tualatin Commons Pond and the Westmoreland Casting Pond during Association events. The Association has monthly meetings and special events in Tigard.

Who we are…
Our members range from seniors to families with teens and are largely in the metro Portland area. Some members travel to our events from as far away as Montana! We are craftsman, professionals, tradesmen, retirees and home makers. Our members have a wide variety of skill levels and may start with nothing more than sticks and an idea, some assemble kits and some enjoy ready to run models. We all have at least one thing in common: We love running model boats on crystal clear water in the sunshine with other we have come to call friends.
Our members most often run RC scale models that are displacement to moderate speed and a few that bring the excitement of electric speedboats to the pond. Our boats range from workboats like tugs, cargo ships and ferries to warships to pleasure craft, all like you may see the full scale plying the Willamette, Columbia and beyond.
